Projects: Clinical Equipment Transfers • Identify Clinical workflow and Patient journeys • Requirements Analysis and Design Definition • Data Migration Strategy | Infrastructure and End User Computing Analysis • Manage vendor relationships Clinical Equipment Transfers is a Programme of work that combines newly procured and current equipment (Servers, Desktops and Clinical), ensuring it is successfully implemented at a recently constructed Children’s Hospital. With 32 departments re-locating, it’s imperative that the analysis is undertaken swiftly as not to disrupt current clinical operations. Creating data flow diagrams providing a visual entity to the numerous sources of data utilisation assisted Architects to design solutions for concurrent working practices at both Hospitals. As a team we developed an ‘early adopter’ framework whereby new hospital solutions could be implemented and realised through current practices. This would help Clinicians become familiar with new technologies ensuring Business Readiness on transfer day.
Projects: IT Service Management Tool and Processes | Timesheet Solution | Legal Case Management • Current state End to End process mapping, identify gaps and present options for improvement • Provide strategic direction and introduce Industry standards (ITIL) • Introduce measurements for accountability and continuous improvement • Gather requirements and define solutions from an enterprise perspective IT Service Management Tool and Processes was an initiative to identify gaps in current processes and improve IT relationships with the Business. Facilitating workshops, I ascertained requirements and analysed the market for solutions; analysing costs benefits over 5 years, financial options were provided and a proposed solution recommended. Timesheet Solution was a process improvement need from Finance, IT and Contract Management divisions. Working with the Business, key areas were realised and gaps identified from contractual timesheet entry to financial management of project associated costs. I mapped out processes and presented solutions to the Management team, highlighting cost savings and where benefits could be realised. Legal Case Management system was a new initiative to assist the legal prosecution team with managing their daily activities. Through elicitation and collaboration, I collated requirements and created associated business models. Presenting and gaining approval of the objectives and associated requirements from the General Counsel, a Market Evaluation was created to find a suitable vendor and product.
Projects: Managed Equipment Services (MES) Interfaces | Research Governance | WA Health Online • Facilitate Workshops to elicit Requirements • Assist with development of a SharePoint Model (including Processes, Governance, Strategy and a sounding framework for future scalability) • Implement an intranet with a 40,000 user base • Application integration between 7 Business and Clinical Information Systems (Inc. ICU and ED) • Deliver a two-factor authenticating Research and Ethical Governance management solution MES Interfaces delivers leading edge technology for Health Clinicians through 7 Clinical Information Systems. Utilising Managed Devices, combined with an Information System and standardised HL7 messaging, Clinicians will promptly gain access to Patient Demographic information. As the BA for MES Interfaces, I would liaise with Clinicians, documenting requirements and clinical workflow. Communicating with the application Vendors, document the technical workflow; mutually analysing to ascertain an absolute solution. Providing Functional Specifications to both WA Health and Vendor development teams, managing necessary translation work, technical and business readiness of the application interface was established. Research Governance is a project delivering a solution to manage Research and Ethical Governance for Clinical trials. Analysing existing disparate applications combined with stakeholder engagement, requirements were gathered. I designed User Interfaces and approval workflow for development activities to commence. The solution’s interface provided two-factor authentication for both WA Health and Non-WA Health employees (such as Pharmaceutical companies). WA Health Online - Leading numerous workshops, documenting requirements and coordinating design iterations, a new, enhanced user experience from both business and clinical perspectives was released as a state-wide intranet for WA Health. Additionally involved in the Information Architecture and Information Management, I constantly liaised with the development team ensuring alignment and traceability to the abundance of captured requirements; constantly providing updates to the Project Manager.

Presenting an Intranet and Internet paradigm which would relinquish current IT driven solutions and bestow ownership and responsibility to the Business users. My role included liaising with Solution Architects proposing alternate solutions to identified risks; communicating and managing change of the implementation. I mentored and coached business analysts and took responsibility for their deliverables. AD Redesign was a multi-year programme for WA Health; consolidating to a single domain (from 4), a single authentication environment (removing Novell and utilising Windows authentication) and standardising on a collaborative network location. An enormous infrastructure, application and data management refresh project comprising over 650 sites, 40,000 users, 400 configurable applications and terabytes of data.
